Notifications inform you about various changes in the system which are relevant for you.
You will get notification if, for example, task is shared with you, or there is change on a project which you manage or, maybe, your request has been reassigned to other user. If you aren't closely following all those items you wouldn't know about said changes and keeping eye on all the things, which might be relevant, is tiresome.
With notifications you will know if relevant changes have happened.

- Task's qualitative status changed
- Project's qualitative status changed
- Comment on activity stream item
- Message in a task sent to you
- Message in a project sent to you
- Task has been reassigned
- Request's qualitative status changed
- Request changed
- Request reassigned
- User is asking that you give them certain permission.
- Answer to your request for permission has been given
- Message in a document sent to you
- Document shared with you
- Document collection shared with you
- Project shared with you
- Task shared with you
- Request shared with you
