Customizing display lists

Display lists in runsimply can be customized to great extent. You can specify what columns you want to see, how they should be formatted, aligned, colored, what data you want to see i.e. you can filter displayed data and you can group displayed data using multiple grouping columns.

All display lists in runsimply have access to tools that enable you this customization: filters 1, views 2 and groupings 3. These are always displayed above the list itself.

NOTE: Certain data in runsimply already has some filters, view or groupings (e.g. tasks and projects). These are system defined. They can be used by everyone and they cannot be modified or deleted (you can however copy them and create new ones).

When you create filters, view and groupings you can make them private i.e. accessible only to you or you can make them public so everyone can use them (even if you make them public, only you as their creator can delete them).

An example display list containing  filters, views with conditional formatting and grouping can be seen in the image below:

In the example above you can see that data has been filtered as 'Incomplete tasks' filter is selected.

Tasks have been grouped by their priority.

Task names are displayed in white color and red background for very high priority, orange for high priority and green for normal priority.

Finish dates are formatted with custom background color and a custom icon depending if the finish date is before or after July 1th 2016.

Tasks status is also formatted depending on it's value: text color has been changed and a custom icon added.

You can also see that for each group of data three summaries have been calculated and displayed: for start date minimum date is displayed, for finish date maximum date and for status count of distinct values is displayed.

Customizing display lists is a very powefull way of showing the data that you need allowing you to focus on just the right information.
